Fox News and Pakistan

I don't know what the other cable networks have been saying, but Fox News today has had some outstanding commentary on the situation in Pakistan, coming from wide-ranging sources such as the regular news anchors to Neil Cavuto, the financial analyst. I give them credit for even covering the Musharraf speech, and certainly didn't expect some of the fine analysis I've heard throughout the day as I've tried to concentrate on analysis for work.

Of course, some of us were making similar comments yesterday (not to mention Robert Kaplan, whose articles and books have long been blogged here).

Advantage: Reason Forum and visitors!

Addendum: I just heard a Fox News reporter suggest that Musharraf might have more room to operate if he had been elected, instead of assuming power in a coup. Categorically false, and typical of the narrow Western view of the world. The coup took place WITH the widespread support of the people, who (rightly or wrongly) viewed the military as perhaps a last bastion of professionalism, after the disastrous rule of the previous elected government. On the whole, though, Fox still gets high ratings for its coverage and analysis.
