- May as well start disappointing them early (Brothers Judd)
- Will Obama Bring Home the Neocons? (Gabriel Schoenfeld, WSJ) It beats me, but he could move to the right, win quite a bit of Republican support, and do good things for the country.
- The Politics of Cohesion (David Brooks, NYT)
- No choice but to matter (Eugene, Robinson, WaPo)
- Unlike media, Obama knows he's no wizard (John Kass, Chicago Tribune)
- Bush and the Bush-haters (J.R. Dunn, RCP)
- Holder for Wiretaps (WSJ)
- The Border Patrol commutations (Burkablog)
- Fiat takes major stake in Chrysler (AP) A good European carmaker (Daimler) couldn’t make it work, but a so-so European carmaker will? I don’t think so. Keep Jeep and get rid of the rest of the crap.
- Group can't afford to repair the Hurricane Ike-damaged Shriners Hospital for Children (AP) More sad news.
- New Menu at the Rainbow Lodge (Food in Houston) Several pictures of what I can only describe as a chef masturbating on a plate. On the plus side, at least nobody expects one to eat a picture.
- Obama will keep the Big Lebowski rug (MeMo) MeMo’s contribution to the historic day.
- The Plan: Is it too bureaucratic? (The Future of the Harris County GOP) Nah… if all it takes to rebuild the Harris County Republican Party is endless blogging about forming committees and holding meetings, the future (not to be confused with The Future) is set!
- Dan Patrick responds: "The partisanship of the Democrats brought us to this point" (Burkablog) The stuff that plays for KDAN’s few hundred radio listeners comes off more comically to others.
- Windows 7 beta version a leap ahead (Dwight Silverman, Houston Chronicle)

I still have hope for the Dodge truck/minivan/SUV line, but I wonder about much of Chrysler’s car lineup-seems like durn near anyone could turn out far better cars for less money, though I guess the 300/Magnum/Charger series has a certain appeal (based loosely on the Mercedes-Benz E-class, if memory serves), even with the OK turnpike cops, last I saw. I’d think Fiat could be very successful manufacturing their own really small cars here, but we’ll see.
I have little hope for Obama, but maybe he won’t break anything during his tenure. Hopefully he’ll hack off his own people, rally the conservative base, and be gone before we know it. Statism is bad, a = a, vote Ron Paul, and so forth.

Sadly, there is no easy textual way to convey the TP sounds followed by tires squealing that we sometimes append to this sort of thing in person. 🙂
