24 Count

I caught 24 Count, a local band, for the first time tonight, at Fitzgerald's. They are really outstanding, especially for a band that has not been together very long. I've been listening to their cd via free mp3 download on their website since discovering them, and really enjoying it. Their stage sound is very crisp and polished, and they have excellent energy live. Unfortunately, the sound guy at Fitzgerald's didn't do HIS job half as well, making us glad we didn't ask to plug the recorder into the sound board direct (the occasional loud pops probably would have overwhelmed the poor thing). Anyway, for you Houstonians, 24 Count is well worth seeing. I would recommend the 12 July show at Rudyards, where the sound guy is very competent and parts of the staff belong to the Montrose Beer and Gun Club.

The insurance adjuster called yesterday, and now I have to go round up an estimate and fax it over to him. I guess we know what I'll be doing tomorrow. Fun!
