JOURNAL: Previous | Next | Current | Index

Yesterday

The workout yesterday, followed by running errands that I didn't get done on Sunday, wiped me out last night before I could be bothered to post a journal entry. Since I've started using GreyMatter, I've been contemplating abandoning the daily updates in favor of substantive updates only, but can't decide whether I want to change. On the one hand, the more substantive updates are the most interesting and make for a much more compelling journal. On the other hand, I follow that up with "compelling to whom?" I started the journal, among other reasons, so that I would have a daily record (boring or not) of my life -- note the "I, I, my" in all of that. I guess "compelling to me" is the answer, and so the (mostly) daily journal continues.

Our new administrative assistant is making progress. She has now graduated from turning on her computer (20 February) to checking her email. Impressive! However, if she doesn't soon learn how to avoid annoying me over pedantic irrelevant crap when I am busy writing, she may wind up wearing her computer as a fashion accessory.

Also, the manager of ITPs has noticed my sign (background: "It's Not Like People Are Stuck On The Moon"). She stopped all cheery (rare for her) yesterday, and said, "Ah, I see you like my sign!" Umm, yes, that's it. It's such a healthy attitude that I wanted to promote it!

I'm not sure what is worse -- working in an organization full of people with the attitude "It's Not Like People Are Stuck On The Moon" or working in an organization full of people too dumb to realize they are targets of my derision, not adoration!

COMMENTS

For what it's worth, I enjoy the daily journal entries and the opportunity to peer inside your mind on a daily basis. Even the minutiae is fascinating. It's a sickness, and I just can't control myself.
