A 105 MEGABYTE Patch?!

On Thursday of last week, I ordered an OEM version of Corel WordPerfect Office 2002 (don't gag -- I've been using WP since it was the premiere DOS word processor, and even though MS Office is used at work, I'm still using WP for the dissertation because I LIKE it) from here for 12 bucks. I selected standard shipping, but was nonetheless surprised to find the package waiting today. Needless to say, I've installed the software and am EXTREMELY pleased with the cheap deal.

All of that is just a preface, however, to the fact that I went to Corel's support site to download updates and patches, and finally have done so. It took a while, even with my humming 2 megabit/sec roadrunner connection, because the "patch" WAS 105 FRIGGING MEGABYTES!!!

That's right, 105 MEGABYTES!

Completely unfeasible if one doesn't have broadband. Have I mentioned lately how much I like Time Warner/Roadrunner?
