North Korea

Newsmax reports today that North Korea has lately been marking warlike noises.

Now, North Korea fairly regularly makes warlike noises. That's just what North Korea does. That doesn't change the fact that they may very well be serious one of these days, and that it would be best not to be caught unprepared.

I don't think Secretary Rumsfeld is likely to be caught unprepared. Indeed, I blogged a Newsday report of his highly relevant comments on North Korea just yesterday, with the headline "Rumsfeld lets North Korea know the United States is paying attention to them."

It's so nice knowing there are grownups running U.S. foreign policy these days.
