Flashlight

Update: my backpacking flashlight has been located. And it's a good thing I asked, since it was sitting on an exposed rafter that is in the process of being covered again by sheetrock.

Not very meticulous at all (reminding me of the hard spot under the carpet in my old bedroom at my parents house, where the installers left their mark in the form of a forgotten tool).

Like I said, not much depth to the journal lately!

Back to the dissertation, where I've found these delightful comments in one of the books I'm using to construct/annotate the bibliography and supplemental research agenda for this chapter:

"For many purposes, it is best to see Legal Realism as simply a continuation of the reformist agenda of early-twentieth-century Progressivism." (for MOST purposes, actually -- the reasons composing a significant part of the dissertation!)

"For, above all, Realism is a continuation of the Progressive attack on the attempt of late-nineteenth-century Classical Legal Thought to create a sharp distinction between law and politics and to portray law as neutral, natural, and apolitical" (largely true, but the dissertation refines this contention significantly)
