Groobees

On top of being annoyed with the BS I wrote about in the earlier journal entry, I was bummed to find out that my current favorite Texas band has split. In the past year or so, I've really grown to like the Groobees, an Americana band that seemed really to exploit the strengths of all of the band members.

The cryptic message on their website indicates that Susan (one of the songwriter/vocalists) is now touring, and the tourdates now reflect her schedule (along with her new manager's email addy). Interestingly enough, the meta content tags have been altered so that Susan Gibson's name is the only one listed now -- everyone else has been deleted (it's fun being an html geek). I wonder if someone has been planning to ditch the rest of the band for a while now?

Apparently, vocalist/songwriter/keyboardist (and my favorite member of the band) Scott Melott will be relocating to Austin. I hope he does well, and makes it over to Houston on occasion.
