Wayside

After vacillating for a while, I finally went to Tweeter, bit the bullet, and bought the new stereo receiver (the Yamaha RX-496) and couldn't be more pleased. It brings out sound I just couldn't hear with the old system. And no scary random pops threatening to blow my speakers a la the old receiver, which would have upset me greatly.

The dissertation, on the other hand, didn't get as much attention as I had planned today. The old familiar refrain. But in addition to purchasing and setting up the receiver (a little more involved than I thought it would be), I did much needed cleaning, a preliminary run through my taxes (blar!) to make sure I don't somehow owe thousands of dollars, grocery shopping, and other stuff that needed done.
