Montrose-Bohemian

I think Callie is in a particularly Montrose-Bohemian mood today. This snippet from an email suggests as much:

i went to the diedrichs on westheimer today. geez. what an antiseptic
place that is. every single person in there was a yuppie. no tattoos, no
bald heads, no pierced body parts, no goth devotees, no gender conflicted
patrons. nothing. just boring people driving their boring cars wearing
their boring little work clothes stopping at their safe, boring little
coffee shop. might as well make it a starbucks. . . .

i'm not really that grouchy this morning :). it's weird. i almost felt
contempt for these people for some reason. yuppies have just as much right
to have access to good coffee. i don't know why it bothered me so much to
be in a room full of them.

Of course, I'm being a boring person in boring pressed khakis and boring denim shirt working in a boring office in the boring Galleria area today. :) Unfortunately, I'm not in my boring truck, as it is sitting waiting for the boring insurance adjuster to cut me a check to get it fixed!

COMMENTS

Hee, that's funny. And interesting. Let's face it, yuppies ARE boring! Their favorite colors are khaki and white! However interesting they might turn out to be on the inside, the outside isn't much to look at.

So, I feel better for occasionally running around in my yuppified neighborhood in ripped up jeans and a Megadeth t-shirt with a skull on it. That's boring too, but at least it's a different boring than khaki-and-white.

um...nothing about you is boring, my dear, even when temporarily relegated to a less than exciting environment.

i'm in a normalcy averse mood this morning, i think. people were just too perfect and too happy about it there. for some reason, it rankled me. i had several perfects seemingly look down their perfect noses at me for being in shorts at 8:00 in the morning. it's so perfect there, certain hours have certain dress codes.

i bet no one has to warn tyson davis sighters not to use foul language at the westheimer diedrichs.

really, i'm not grouchy this morning :).

give me the montrose diedrichs any day. sparks of life abound there.

Callie said, "um...nothing about you is boring, my dear, even when temporarily relegated to a less than exciting environment."

Is it just me, or is this comment marvelously suggestive, making Kevin sound like the sexiest man on earth?

Lucky you, to have a partner who regards you so very highly. :)
