Fox not only owns the biggest piece of that package but the network’s executives were integral in a process that saw its most significant rival eliminated.
/ I will never understand the rise of this "see" formulation
"that eliminated its most significant rival" is just much better writing

Let's not anoint them just yet. There were some good things, and quite a few bad things.
Really great series on that team that changed the trajectory of OU football, which had become a joke
Meh
Those two teams are mediocre, just as OU is.
They showed what they are against Iowa State, a legit good team in the Big 12 (none are great this year, but K-State should scare people)

I really don't get transferring to a conference rival.
I don't begrudge the kid for taking advantage of the rules , which are generally stacked against athletes, but were you ever that devoted to the program if you're transferring to a rival?
Conversely: did the program do enough to build loyalty?

Hopefully less of a thing in Norman
1. Not every Power 5 Conference job is superior to every mid-major job. Houston is a great mid-major job. I would rank it in the top four jobs outside the Power 5. Boise State, Central Florida, Houston and Brigham Young. That’s the big four.

Heh
I like Schroeder, but it feels like we were watching a different game, at least until OU got separation.
Up to that point, Murray's accuracy passing was clearly inferior to Mayfield's (not shocking - his was the best in cfb last year). He makes up for that in other ways that Lincoln Riley is smart enough to exploit, so it is going to be fun to watch. But Murray needs to improve as a passer for OU to get where they want to be.
