Dissertation Status
The result of an intensive dissertation effort over a long New Year's weekend is about 85% completion of the final substantive chapter of the dissertation (roughly 42 pages in three days time -- a decline in my abilities since the grad school days, but still not bad output). I had hoped, of course, for 100% completion, but I'm close. All of the cited material is in the chapter now, but in many places (too many! *groan*) there are just rough notes where I need to go back and add interpretation. And then there's the matter of the chapter intro and conclusion, which can be banged out pretty quickly. But the hardest part is done, and it has fried me. I wonder how many people are looking forward to heading back to work for a BREAK tomorrow?! *smile*
I should be able to finish up the chapter by the end of next weekend if I work some on the introduction during the week. But I don't even want to think about that right now. Time to relax for a while.
In any case, I had not intended the dissertation to be around still at all in 2002, but the end is near (probably would have been reached if not for 11 September, which altered my priorities for a while both at work and at home).
