One for Three

If you're a hitter in baseball, one out of three ain't bad. So I was happy yesterday to hear from the insurance adjuster, who somehow "found" my fax (though he claimed it was illegible -- making it possible, though unlikely, that he is not a liar who put me off for a week, but that there was a legitimate foulup), talked to the shop, and approved my repairs. The truck is out at the shop now, waiting on the adjuster to go by and finalize his approval. This is quite a relief. Even though I live within walking distance of virtually anything one might need, I was getting tired of bumming rides to work and elsewhere. And a Dodge Dakota really does not make a lovely street ornament, my sarcasm to the contrary.

Still no forwarded mail yesterday, nor a security deposit refund, but these two things are far less annoying and critical. In baseball terms, I'm now one for three with a double. Not a bad slugging percentage against the incompetent society.
