Hurricane Kellas

Mr. Kellas rolls out of town a little later today after a fun week. Mr. Kellas was over to participate in Laxative 2001, and we knocked down a fair number of beers along the way. Including last night, which had a moment of irony. I tend subconsciously to adopt various mannerisms, phrases, sometimes even the tone, of people I like whom I am around quite a bit (I also can do fairly decent impersonations of people, including a really good Pat Robertson). Shortly after meeting Mr. Kellas, I adopted one of his mannerisms (subconsciously -- I didn't realize it until thinking about it this morning), which is an occasional exaggerated frown (as in, "Who knows what the future holds?" *frowny shrug*). He made a comment last night at Cecil's that he thought that mannerism of mine at times conveyed negativity (it doesn't, and I disagreed, but that's not important). This morning, I laughed out loud as I was recalling the conversation, and finally remembered, "Wait a minute, that mannerism CAME from Kellas!"

I have resolved to finish the dissertation chapter entitled "Progressive Historicism and the Assault on the Constitution" on Saturday, even if it takes a marathon session that causes me to miss the Reckless Kelly show. My motivation is sad, really. I just received a library notice that I have about 5 way overdue books. I need to finish this chapter just to get them back to the library. Hey, it's motivation.
