Off to the Woods

Callie managed to get her backpack problems resolved at the Whole Earth on Shepherd (as opposed to Woodway).  There is an excellent young lady who works at that store whom I've spoken to several times, and she was quite surprised how badly Callie had been misfitted, and finally wound up putting her in a Bora 65 medium with women's small harness and belt components. The stays look to me like they need a little more manipulation, but this is good enough to get us going.  And the fact they were able to do this has allowed me to print up the topographical maps and other goodies I need.  

So, the journal will be down until 16 October or so.  Not to worry -- I'll be keeping a travel journal as well as a backpacking journal while I'm in the woods.  Everything will be recorded for posterity.  Unless a black bear decides to have me for lunch.  In that case, what can you do?
