Hawaii Bowl: Buy A Ticket, Support UH And Our Troops

With regard to the C-USA/TCU/GMAC bowl controversy, Gil Lebreton has outdone himself today, with a column in the Star-Telegram that's even worse than that whiny tripe from a few days ago. He actually argues that TCU was a victim in the whole mess, and should consider leaving C-USA (don't let the door hit you in the ass!).

What a load.

Meanwhile, Fran Blinebury actually has a really good article on the subject in today's Comical.

That's right, Fran Blinebury. I could barely believe it myself.

Kudos to UH AD Dave Maggard for stepping up to the plate, and making sure the Coogs didn't get outmaneuvered. It's nice to have a real AD and football coach at the place after the knuckleheads who have been around in recent years.

There's no way I'm going to make the Hawaii Bowl unfortunately, but CoogFans.com and the UH athletic department have come up with a good idea for those who care to support the program and the military -- buy tickets to the bowl game (helping UH), and donate them to servicemen on the island. I plan on doing just that.
