Why It Sucks Not To Have A Cowboys Radio Affiliate In Houston

Two pieces of handy information from the Cowboys radio network, courtesy of the Beaumont station:

1) Punter Toby Gowin is nursing a sore quad.

2) Kurt Vollers is starting at right tackle for Ryan Young, who apparently suffered a late injury. The Cowboys are short on the o-line now because of the way they arranged their active roster for the game.

Not that Jerry Jones and Bob McNair think any Cowboys fans in Houston might want to know that information.

One word for Cowboys fans in Houston - MOVE!

Nah, I love this city. Like many Houstonians, I came here from elsewhere with prior attachments to other sports teams. Houston is a diverse international city that attracts people from everywhere, after all. Unlike the parochial Dallasites, we can take pride that we have fans of sports teams from all over the world, whether it's the Dallas Cowboys or Manchester United.

And we can still support our local teams! It's not a zero-sum game.

Kevin, you just gotta root for the home team. It's a rule. :)

No argument from me! Sunday found me stunned but happy that Texans QB David Carr got a TD to win the last play of the game, just as the Cowboys game was starting. :) And I'll be as critical as anyone when people wearing Atlanta Braves gear outnumber Astros fans at Minute Maid. Grr! But dual allegiances in general? Not a big deal.

Actually, I don't want anyone to move. I just get frustrated with whiny Cowboys fans who think that they have suffered some great injustice because the local journos don't break away from their usual programming to join in progress Bill Parcell's latest effort to pass gas.
