Backpacking completed
I managed to get in another short backpacking trip over the weekend.
Other than being a little chilly (we dropped into the 40s, I was expecting 50s and packed accordingly, the hammock sleeps colder than a tent and sleeping pad, brrr!), it was another good trip. The backpack was good, hammock sleeping was a LOT better this time, and I'm not too banged up from the experience.
There were no bigfoot or $6,000,000 man sightings, although I did spot some bear scat on the trail.
The forest was looking a lot better than it was last week. The fall colors weren't on full display, but some reds and yellows were really starting to turn out in spots. Next weekend will likely be the peak time, and it should still be really good in two weeks, when I plan on a return (for some day hiking and "cabin camping" this time).
