Summertime, Kid Rock style
Do I risk blowing any music cred I might have ever built up on the little blog by admitting that I think this is a pretty cool song?
Oh well, too bad. I think this is a pretty cool song.
It probably doesn't hurt that he plays off two pretty good songs in themselves.

It is a pretty cool song. Why would you lose cred for saying so? Is Kid Rock a Nashville musician or something?

Hey, it's not like he's Lukas Foss or something.
But on another note, have you rushed out and bought the new Jewel country music CD yet?

I'd have to agree, this is a pretty cool song.
And if I can put on my "shrink" hat, I suspect you like it a little more than some because it reminds you of your own "yoot" back home in Osage County.
Don't let the "Texas Country" puritans rag on ya for you liking the song. If they do, tell 'em the R Man will kick their fey, faux-hawked, lisping asses back to Austin, or something.

R: I was more worried you and TFG would give me grief. :)

Nah. I find Robert Richey amusing, though I'd describe him much as Mister Hall did myself some years back as "a weird f*cker" in the extreme. Loved the CMT special with the Kid and Hank Jr. some years back. I'm betting many intoxicants were imbibed/smoked/ingested during that get-together, though not as many as when Minnie Pearl, Little Jimmy Dickens, and John Conlee showed up.

It's a good song. Nothing to be ashamed of.
