Greece Trip: 05/10/08 (Sat) -- Toodling around paros
From 05/08/08 on, I had pretty much stopped writing up my bullet notes in my written journal. I may fill them in a little here, but this is mostly just a chronological dump from what's in my notebook. I regret that I've inevitably lost some detail this way, but I really got into Paros and didn't feel like writing in detail.
- Breakfast at the coffeeshop
- Heading off around the island.
- Naussa -- "resort" fishing village. This means it's expensive. It doesn't seem to have great fish, because it's no longer an actual fishing village like Aliki. We did have lunch at a place where one of the owner-brothers used to be a captain, but left to come back to the homeland and be with his family (Greeks do this). The fish was good not exceptional, here.
- Driving through Marmara, Prodromos, Marpissa.
- Piso Livadi is another nice looking (real) fishing village, much like Aliki. Mental note for the future. San Antonio Hotel. Amusing to the crew from Texas.
- Detour to Lefkes. Not much to say about it.
- Back around to our hotel and a nap (when in Greece...).
- Back to Aliki for our dinner. Yummy fish! Good gawd. Yummy fish.
- Watched a bad movie in the room before falling asleep. I can't even remember the details now. I should have written it down!
