Moving On
So, Jason Garrett is back in the Cowboys family now.
He'll at least be the offensive coordinator, with a possibility he'll be named head coach.
I don't think he'll be named head coach. I think Wade Phillips may be that guy.
Anyway, Garrett's a good young football mind, and the Cowboys need more of those (and fewer people who are on the staff because the Jersey Con Man liked them or whatever). The Hardline guys give Garrett a thumbs up also.

I like having Jason Garrett back; I'm afraid the way Jerry's going about it signals a return to the bad old days of Campo and Gailey, though.
First of all, shouldn't he hire a head coach and let him hire his own coordinators? Or failing that, let Garrett know one way or the other what his job's going to be? This totally smacks of the days when Jerry had his hands all over too much of the operation of the team, and as I recall, that led to a lot of really, really bad draft picks and 5-11 seasons.

Yeah, in the ideal world of the really good owner, I think that's how it ought to be done. But, we have Jerry's world. I'm just hoping we get some happy medium between how he used to do it, and letting the Jersey con man have most of the control.
I really have to believe that Jerry had some communication with his prospective head coaching candidates, and told them he was sold on Garrett as OC to develop Romo -- and that other matters were negotiable.
Because let's face it -- if Norv Turner is the coach, Garrett will be "offensive coordinator" like Gary Kubiak was Mike Shanahan's offensive coordinator. But if it's Wade Phillips or Gary Gibbs, then Garrett will probably have much more autonomy.
