Radnofsky "Twinkie Tour"
The former precinct chair is promoting a "Twinkie Tour."
I think it's cute that the press release refuses to use Sen. Hutchison's name.
Because, you know, people don't know her. :)

Little did I know when I first logged on here and started reading and then added a comment a few weeks later responding to a Radnofsky post that the precinct chair meme would become a recurring theme. I might have used a different nom de blog. Oh well.
You raised a great point a while back when you said she should have run for a lower office first. She gave a really good speech at the Democratic convention in Fort Worth, but that's not nearly enough. Let's be honest--KBH is arguably the most popular politician in Texas, and BAR regrettably doesn't have much of a chance.
This sort of campaign proves that point. The salmon and Twinkies things are actually kind of funny, but more the sort of thing you'd expect from a statehouse campaign. Also, Radnofsky's right about KBH and her neglect on veterans' issues. I still maintain she's probably more qualified than KBH to be a senator. I don't know what part of Houston she's from; could she have run for Lindsay's vacant seat against Dan Patrick? Would she have even had a chance in that district? I'm pretty sure she could win a seat in the Legislature or the House somewhere down there.
Also, it's a regular tactic not to use an opponent's name in press releases. It's kind of stupid, I know, but fairly routine nonetheless.

APC -- SD7 is very, very Republican. I'm not sure there's a Democrat in the country who would've had a chance, even against a potential polarizer like Dan Patrick.
Also, as Kevin hints, it's more common not to use your opponent's name when that person doesn't have name ID. It's just silly for BAR not to name KBH.

Yeah, SD7 is safe Republican territory.
Maybe she would have had a chance running against Martha Wong?
I will give her props for running, though. I sometimes feel kind of embarrassed for her, but her inexperience isn't her fault, nor is it her fault that her party is in such a sad state of affairs that it could not come up with a single credible candidate to take on KBH.
It's not good for Texas or for Republicans that Texas Dems are so ineffectual right now, in my view.
