Why I Like Houston In January
My mom sends along the following photo of their yard, as a snow storm is pounding Oklahoma:

It's pretty, but I'll take Houston in the winter!

I actually miss that kind of weather occasionally (I grew up in the Panhandle). You get to play in the snow for a few days, and then it all melts and it's 50-60 degrees for a while and you can play golf again. I do not, however, miss the constant howling wind.

Not now for it is gone!!! It was almost all gone by evening.. as 'another precinct chair' wrote..one of the joys of Oklahoma...for awhile it was a gray, gray day..reached 70 degrees the day after!
