These Midweek Roadtrips Just Kill Me

I'm about to embark on an over-and-back roadtrip to New Braunfels/Gruene, where my Dead End Angels buddies are playing kind of a different gig.

Austin City Limits
The New Braunfels Museum of Art and Music is hosting an Austin City Limits exhibit that apparently includes a replica of the Austin City Limits set, stage and all. Apparently, they schedule various bands to "play" the set. DEA comes on at 8pm.

Since the guys haven't been playing much due to new arrivals in the families of various band members and they aren't set to play much until this fall, I'm stuck roadtripping over to see 'em for the first time in ages.

Still, the ACL exhibit looks pretty cool. That seems worth doing for anybody who has an interest in Texas music and will be in the area.

I'm sure I'll regret this when I MUST be at the office early Friday, but what the hell... I'm outta here shortly.

Tell my family I said HI. And if you get a recording, I'd love to hear it!

Gary C: I think they won't be playing much again till this fall. But they tried out some new stuff that I REALLY liked, so I think the wait will be worth it!

Sean: I didn't see this comment until too late! But I did see and say hello to various members of your family. They're all so nice. Oh, and Scott's girls "sang" a quick tune each. That was cute. :)

SafetyMan: I love that part of the state and am envious of you guys! Go see Roger Creager at Gruene Hall Sat night for a good Texas music experience. :) I've been outta the swing of things, but I plan on winning ya'll over to Texas country at some point!

Kevin, I hope you're a fan of Gary P. Nunn. If so, he's playing at Armadillo Palace on tomorrow night. Also, the Greencards are playing Saturday night at Mucky Duck.

It's a good week for you Houston folks with Hank III playing on Monday night, Slaid Cleaves on Wednesday night, Kevin Fowler on Friday night and Jack Ingram on Saturday night.

Enjoy...
