Bummer
I actually listened to the Fox announcers tonight, instead of turning the sound off and listening to music (or anything, really).
I should have passed. Nine innings of three grown men taking turns sticking their tongue in Tony LaRussa's ear was about enough for a lifetime.
But I will credit the Cardinals for playing great baseball all year long. Those guys do little things like moving runners over and getting them home when they're supposed to. Nothing fancy, they just do it, and have all season.
At least this idiocy can stop now.

Now I will be challenged to avoid the horrors of football talk 24/7. My only respite is music, starting tomorrow with the Asylum Street Spankers.

Bummer is right. But the Astros sure came back from a mid-season black hole, didn't they? Good for them and good for the fans. Now, if they can just keep Beltran...
And yes, that idiocy needed to stop. I just wish it wasn't this way.

I personally think Dan G. jinxed the Astros with his Nostradamus-like (just about as accurate) predictions and forecasts about the stars being in alignment and the Astros being a team of destiny. Was he wearing the Johnny Carson swami-headgear when he wrote that????
Let's see if Dan is still sharing his baseball expertise tomorrow when he makes a new remark about "The Houston Astros. TEAM... of DESSSSSSS-TINY" =)

Kevin,
Reminds me of the days when Patrick was on Channel 11 with his goofy team color wigs.
Now, I just hope I can keep myself from becoming an irrational loon during football season. As you may have noticed, that topic pushes me toward insanity.

Bummer, but for the love of all that is holy, ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!!!! The Astros were road-kill at the All-Star break. What an outrageous comeback! You got to sit in a seat in a Championship series!
As a Ranger fan, I didn't want Houston to be the first Texas team in the WS, but I was fully prepared to support Ol' Swampy if they made it. Crikey, I would have even gone and bought an Astros hat. I guess now I'll have to find my Cards hat, since I will be cheering for
a) payroll sanity
b) Red State America
and
c) continued failure for the Red Sox Nation (since that seems to give them so much to live for)

I switched off the sound two games ago and listened to Milo. The radio was a split second ahead of the TV, but that was fine. It made him seem really sharp and on the ball. I don't think the Fox cameras focused on Garner once until around the fourth inning.
Oh, I'm so depressed :(
