The Shorthorns are Gearing Up

UT head coach Mack BrownAustin American Statesman columnist Cedric Golden (that HAS to be a pen name) poses five questions about Longhorn football, and answers them.

You can read his version if you want the real poop, but I think my answers are more fun and certainly more succinct:

1. Will Texas break the four-year Red River drought against OU?

No.

2. How long will Vince Young last as the starting quarterback?

The whole season, unless a limb falls off.

3. Can co-defensive coordinators Duane Akina and Greg Robinson improve a unit that slipped to 25th in the country in total defense?

No. Copying Bob Stoops and going with co-defensive coordinators doesn't negate the fact that Mack Brown is still the head coach.

4. What kind of offense will Texas put on the field?

Vince Young left. Vince Young right. Vince Young incomplete. Punt.

5. Is this team good enough to win a national championship?

No.
