Ringwalds Tonight
We haven't been to see Molly and the Ringwalds in ages.
Probably since around the start of college baseball season.
We've had a few false starts since then, but are determined to get out tonight to see what the Ringwalds are up to.
It's been a long couple of weeks, and a bit of FUN is in order. The Ringwalds always deliver.
And since the Danger Train runs right by the Continental Club, you never know if a fun 80s music outing might be punctuated with a world-class collision.

That's one band I still haven't seen. Guess I need to check it out. Last night I saw Modulator at Walter's On Washington. Felt a bit odd there since I was not in either of the primary age demographics, the under 25s and the over 45s (perhaps parents of the band members?)
Tomorrow I shall be at Rudyard's fighting the Sooner Power with Orange Is In.

Gary C: You sure get out to a lot of shows! I can't get that motivated of late. Not even of late -- really since spring.
The Ringwalds are fun because 80s music is fun. They don't take it too seriously. And the people watching at their shows is splendid. :)

Kevin,
After hardly going to any shows for about 2 years, I have to make up for lost time. The Ringwalds are certainly on my list of bands to see, but it's becoming an awfully long list ;). The following shows are high on the list of possibilities:
Tonight - Orange Is In (don't know much about them, I just very casually know the bass player)
Fri. Aug 6 - Hayes Carll at the Duck or
Bobby Blue Bland at the Cont.
Sat. Aug 7 - Asylum Street Spankers at Rudyard's
Tues. Aug 10 - Randy Rogers at the Duck(ouch - a weeknight show)
Friday Aug 13 - Molly and The Ringwald's, Jon Dee Graham AND Wayne Hancock at the Continental - Wow.
Sat Aug 14 - Carl Hayn and the Holdouts at Cactus Records (1p-3p)
The Gourds at the Continental or
Terry Allen at the Duck
Friday Aug 20 - Dead End Angels at Dan Electro's
Geez, the next few weeks are crowded with interesting shows. I'll be happy if I see half on that list, though I am definitely focusing on the Dead End Angels on the 20th.

I keep meaning to check out M&tR's but never have gotten around to it. Its only been about 2 years that this has been going on, too. Next time!
